Claudia Hayden's art is colorful, vibrant, upbeat, and positive. Her work reflects the optimism of her spirit. Quite pleasing to the eye, Hayden's art is abstract in style, using exaggerated or simplified forms to represent objects.

Claudia uses combinations of shapes and colors to provide a personal consideration of what is important in her representation. In some of her color paintings, she utilizes a variety of hues in correlation with subtle indications of the subject, which is usually concerned with
more natural, spiritual themes.

In other works, multiple images are combined to complete an overall presentation that may not be recognizable in and of itself, yet initiates an emotional reaction from the viewer.

As a flutist and composer, music has always been an important part of Claudia's life, So she chose several years ago to weave musical influences into painting as did artist greats Wassily Kandinsky and Piet Mondrian before her. Kandinsky once stated,"Color is the keyboard, the soul is the piano with many strings. The artist is the hand that plays, touching one key or another to cause vibrations in the soul.'

The idea of connecting artistic expression and musical rhythm has been a concept studied throughout history, generating curiosity among such scientists as Sir Isaac Newton.

"I grew up in an artistic family, so I was always at art exhibitions or watching my dad work '
" said Claudia, daughter of the late internationally renowned Sculptor Frank Hayden.

A set of black and white paintings titled, The Music Series, depicts various musical instruments
in which she uses the line as the primary tool to portray the energy and rhythm of the work.
